However, it is precisely the patients who always raise the question. What is the duration of such treatment? Although it is complicated to give a concrete answer, since it depends on every case, we can at least differentiate the various phases.<\/p>\n

The 5 phases of the Invisalign treatment<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In order to clarify as far as possible the duration of treatment, and always keeping in mind that everything is approximate, we will explain the different phases that the patient should expect to go through.<\/p>\n

First consultation and initial assessment <\/strong><\/h3>\n

During this first visit, the dentist will assess the patient’s situation. For this, a number of key aspects will be analyzed, which can be complemented with virtual imaging technics.<\/p>\n

    Preparation of the treatment plan<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    The objective of this phase is to gather as much information as possible from the patient’s mouth. An information that can be taken from a few basic tests.<\/p>\n

    • X-rays<\/li>\n
    • Intraoral scanners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      From here, a roadmap will be drawn and, thanks to the current technology, the patient will be able to visualise each steps and see the evolution of the position of the teeth until their final position.<\/p>\n

      Fabrication of the aligners<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Now that all the necessary information is available, a perfect computer image is created that will be the basis for the production of Invisalign aligners. These aligners are fabricated in the United States and the manufacturing time will depend on many factors such as the demand at that moment, the availability of materials or the potential difficulty in manufacturing the specificities of your cases.<\/p>\n

      Treatment <\/strong><\/h3>\n

      It is important to remind that the aligners will be worn at all times except for two moments that are the time of the meal and the time of oral hygiene. Each set of aligners will have to remain in the mouth for a period of 2 weeks to be then replaced by the following ones. This substitution will be controlled by the dentist at the times considered appropriate. During this phase, the patient will witness the evolution of the position of their teeth which will progressively occupy their expected areas.<\/p>\n

      Final phase of treatment <\/strong><\/h3>\n
